I once stayed in a hotel in Spain...the second last day it started to get drip from the ceiling...
...we thought it might be some kind of condensation from the bathroom...the very last day we woke up and lucky us, because right next to the bed it was all wet. The water pipes had burst during the night, but at least we were dry in the bed :)

When we cheched out later on, we mentioned it to the hotel manager and he sure looked like he would die on the spot. It also has to mentioned this hotel was not a 5 star hotel :)
