But I like the idea. But I don't know how much involvement the people at W+K will or should have??
I listened shortly and I must say I prefer Sid Lees radio.

Re: W+K Radio

No matter if it´s a serious idea or just an experiment, I like the idea. It´s fun when brands goes wider and gets into any creative or communicating field there is. I have a soft spot for radio and if anyone sets up a station I´m all ears. Having said that, I haven´t been listening to w+k station much but I will give it a chance. Their schedule looks serious so I hope that some of the interviews will be interesting.

I happened to see that http://www.kokokaka.com opened their own radiostation, http://www.radioforingen.se/ in November. It differs a lot from w+k, both in air time and when it comes to content. It seems like radio is hot at the moment ...

Re: W+K Radio

I tried but only got 30 secs of elevator music. If all I get is elevator music, then it's rather pointless. I think the stuff that stands out a bit in the schedule is the employee DJs and the interviews. Haven't managed to catch any of them yet thou.

But why not use the medium a little more? You could easily have people skype into the show that's running, or use blip.fm to play what people want to, then you'd have a collaborative radio station.

Btw, Sid Lee has a really nice podcast called Sid Loves Turbo. Check it out, it makes the w+k radio seem like a joke in comparison.

Re: W+K Radio

I'm on it right now and according to the schedule there should be some interview but there is only some boring elevator music...

But I like the concept. Its like the old college radios in USA. Remember Beverly Hills 90210. David Silver turning the tables at recess. For some reason I come to think of the old 60s movie "American Graffiti". My dad had the soundtrack on vinyl and it was actually kind of the reason why I started playing guitar. I guess the music on W+K sounds a lot like it.

Re: W+K Radio

I have now listen to it for some hours and I'm not impressed, but I don't think that's W+K fault, it's just me not digging radio without some charismatic/entertaining hosts.

But...
Could this make people at W+K think even more similar than they already do? Isn't there a risk in doing this? Where will they get inspired, if they all listen to the same music? Maybe I'm wrong, it could widen their horizons as well... what do I know.
